The chakra symbols are represented through symbols, colors, and frequencies, with each symbol representing a specific location in our body and connecting us to a specific element of life.
Many people will wear a correlating color or symbol, or play the chakras frequency during meditation to integrate the symbol into their life for an increase in balance and alignment to the chakra.
Through the utilization of these physical symbols, visualizing and using the colors, and hearing and feeling the frequencies resonate around and within you, you are able to become more grounded and have a better connection with your chakras to balance the energy within yourself to reach your highest potential.
Below provides a brief overview of each chakra, with a follow up series going into depth on each chakra in the coming weeks. Enjoy!

Root Chakra (Muladhara) - Find Your Grounding

The phrase "Muladhara" originates from Sanskrit where "mula" means "root/base" and "adhara" means "support/foundation." The primary role of this chakra is to provide stability, grounding, and security for yourself.
Frequency: Approx. 400 THz
Color Meaning: Red symbolizes strength, stability, physical energy, and power.
Function: Grounding and serves as the base of your energy supply for all of your other chakras.
Location in Body: Located at the base of the spine, connecting your body and energy directly to the Earth for energy supply.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) - Boost Your Creativity

The phrase "Svadhisthana" is a Sanskrit word, with "Sva" meaning "self" and "adhisthana" meaning "abode/residence," translating the word "Svadhisthana" to "one's own abode" or "dwelling place." This chakra is a symbol for one's creativity, personal pleasures, and emotions, representing the residence of a person's own desires and feelings.
Frequency: Approx. 484
Color Meaning: The color Orange is warm and stimulative, and is the color of passion, sensuality, creativity, and sexuality.
Function: In order to enjoy your sensual pleasures in life, you must first connect with your sacral chakra to develop your creativity.
Location in Body: Located in the lower abdomen, just under the navel. The Sacral Chakra is used to bridge the grounding energy of your Root chakra to your power center of the Solar Plexus.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - Find Your Power

"Manipura" comes from the Sanskrit word where "mani" means "jewel/gem," and "pura" means "city/place," with a translation fro, "manipura" to "city of jewels" or "lustrous gem."
The Solar Plexus chakra symbolizes self-esteem, personal power, and confidence, to show the importance as the "shinning core" of your inner strength.
Frequency: Approx. 508 THz
Color Meaning: Yellow represents the Solar Plexus chakra, and symbolizes pure energy, optimism, joy, and clarity.
Function: To balance your emotions, personal power, and confidence
Location in Body: Positioned in the upper abdomen, just under the ribcage.
Heart Chakra (Anahata) - Unblock Your Emotions

"Anahata" translates to the phrase of "unstruck" or "unbeaten," with the term "an" meaning "not" and "hata" meaning "struck/beaten." The Heart Chakra represents pure, untainted love and compassion, and symbolizes the hearts ability to remain neutral to external pressures.

Color Meaning: Flowing from nature and the universe, green is the color of life, growth, and equilibrium to represent the heart chakra.
Function: The heart chakras power of unconditional love helps you heal not only on an emotional level, but also on a physical level.
Location in Body: Located at the heart level, at the center of the chest.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - Speak Your Truth

The Sanskrit term "Vishuddha" translates to "the pure" or "thoroughly purified, " with "vi" meaning "thoroughly" and "shuddha" meaning "pure/cleansed." Vishuddha symbolizes self-expression and communication, and represents the purity of your voice and your truth.

Color Meaning: Symbolizing truth, intelligence, and freedom; the color blue represents the sea and the sky along with your throat chakra.
Function: Balancing your Throat Chakra assists you in expressing your thoughts and emotions verbally and coherently to bring your inner desires to physical manifestations.

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) - Clear Your Vision

The phrase "anja" is a Sanskrit word meaning "command" or "perception." "Anja" is derived from the term "Ajnaya," that means "to command" or "to direct," with "Ajna" translating to "command" or "knowledge."
Your third-eye chakra is the center of your inner vision, intuition, and insight. Your third-eye is a guide for a person's senses and perception beyond the ordinary understanding.

Color Meaning: Indigo represents the inner depth, devotion, intuition, and wisdom.
Function: Serving as the gateway between the throat chakras communication and the crown chakras spiritual connection, the third-eye chakra is linked to your intuition and perception.

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) - Connect with the Divine

Derived from the Sanskrit language, "sahasra" meaning "thousand" and "ara" meaning "petals/folds" create the phrase "sahasrara" that translates to "thousand-petaled" or "thousandfold."
The crown represents the highest chakra in your chakra system, symbolizing spiritual connection, divine consciousness, and enlightenment.

Color Meaning: Violet symbolizes imagination and dreams, and white symbolizes innocence, illumination, and purity.
Function: Connects your inner-self to the source, and to receive support from higher spiritual reams.
